Give your employees hours when they ask you 3-4 times when they ask why they still haven’t been given hours and only scheduled 9 hours split between two days. Like that’s a waste of time and gas to even drive to work.

Honestly. I started august 31st and I quit October 4. I just didn’t even show up to my shift. I was very upset and one of my managers or whatever she is, telling me the way I did some things was wrong and it was considered a fail. Yet I’ve seen a million other employees do the same thing I did and they did not get in trouble for it or get told it counted as a fail every time they did it. Not to mention, I told them 5 times that I had open availability and to schedule me whenever they wanted and they consistently gave me less than 25 hours. The last week I was scheduled to work (October 5-11) I was schedule a whole 9 hours, and they were split between two days. So two, 4.5 hour shifts. That is not worth my time being that I was working two jobs. Full time student and bills swallowing me whole. I do not think that Publix is what is use to be. It has changed and it has not be for the better. I was not impressed with my management team at all. I’m not interested in being told I’m doing things wrong when they will argue with customers about prices of products and many other things or managers who like to stand around and talk instead of doing something productive to make Publix the premier shopping store. I am so disappointed at this experience because I honestly wanted to go somewhere with that company but in my short time there, I was highly disappointed and my mind was changed very quickly.

I dread it when I have to wake up at 2 am. I work early shift and I dread walking in and seeing the disaster from closing shift and having to clean up whatever they left.

I took my interview on Monday. I received a job offer and was called for a drug test and background check later that same day, but i wasn’t able to come back to the store until Wednesday evening. I got my results back the Wednesday after that and went in and filled out paperwork on Friday. I would say the whole process is a little over a week.

Horrible hours, short staffed, and you have to work days and hours you said you weren't available when hired originally

Actually listen to the complaints from workers or past workers you see online and on sites. Dont just reprimand and ignore because the complaints give you a bad look. Management needs to be monitored more in a lot of stores and it's just not happening. Thats why people are quitting because of the toxicity. If you want to keep people, start caring about the workers more.
